Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information urthat.org ("You Are That", operated by Yaron Etzion) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is run from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. If you have any question about your information, write to hello@urthat.org.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you choose to give us:

  • Contact and signup forms. When you use a contact form or a "connect" form, we receive the name, email address, and message you enter.
  • Pilgrimage questions. When you leave a question for the road, we receive your name, your question, and your email address if you choose to provide one.
  • Newsletter. If you join the mailing list, we store the email address you give us so we can send the updates you asked for.
  • Comments. If you leave a public comment, we receive the name you type and, if you provide it, your email address (your email is not shown publicly).
  • Courses. If you buy a course, your purchase and payment are handled by our course platform. We do not see or store your card details.

We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and to carry and reflect on the questions you send.
  • To send the newsletter and updates you opted in to receive.
  • To display public comments on the site.
  • To deliver courses you have purchased.

The services we rely on

To run the site, we use a small number of trusted service providers, each with its own privacy practices:

  • GitHub Pages hosts the website.
  • FormSubmit delivers form submissions to our email.
  • MailerLite and Brevo manage the mailing list and send the newsletter.
  • Cusdis powers the public comments.
  • Payhip processes course purchases and payments.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, which means your browser's IP address is shared with Google when a page loads.

The site also links out to other platforms (for example Insight Timer, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and social networks). Once you follow those links, their own privacy policies apply.

Cookies and local storage

The site itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It uses a small amount of local storage in your browser for convenience, for example to remember that the intro video has already played for you. Some of the third-party services listed above may set their own cookies when their features load.

Keeping your information

We keep the information you send for as long as it is needed for the purpose you gave it, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone except the service providers listed above who help us run the site.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA, or the GDPR for visitors in the EU and UK), you may have additional rights over your personal data. To make any request, email hello@urthat.org.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
